The Step Back
Everything I teach myself on the court I reiterate off the court in a helpful way for myself.
If I am resilient on the hardwood, never giving up, I expect the same energy to be put into my work without a basketball. My speed has given me the opportunity to get to the basket all the time, or maybe even a pull up jumper, but I have been facing so much pressure lately I needed some kind of release to generate space. Therefore, a step back was necessary.
Step back:,
urban dictionary - to stop doing something or being actively involved in something for a time
basketball term - an optional move to help create space when the defensive player is pressuring the offense. Which leads to the offensive player being able to shoot their shot
The last 4 months my residence has been Houston, Tx and it was the best decision for my circumstances. There are people who could judge and say I ran away from problems but considering Shomari is the only one walking in her shoes she would just like to let everyone know she had a lot on her plate. A lot she didn't ask for but she never had the chance to explain that part. There was a lot of pressure being put on and there was no one back court with her. At the time it was overwhelming and there were no answers so I just took a step back. Yes, from blogging, all of it. The move from Dallas to Houston allowed me to see things, and especially people, for who and what they were. In addition to that I had space to think and my own air to breathe. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and get a better view. Always do what's best for you, and get a bucket while you're at it.

Ironically I was applying the pressure in this picture, eventually I had to take a step back. She was mad quick. Haha!
